Back to Casa Grande

We were up early and on the road after a fill up at Love's at about seven this morning.  Google Maps sent us on a little trip the wrong way which I realized too late and we had to go four miles to make a U turn.
We finally headed up 70 towards Globe Arizona this route is called the Old West Hwy.   There was a lot of this kind of road today, drive 15 or so miles make a turn and go a long way before turning again.
It was a nice trip with light traffic and a fairly smooth road as we said Good Bye to New Mexico.
We saw some beautiful rock formations and scenery.
Then we started seeing snow on the hills and were kept busy trying to figure out what mountain that is.
We were really wondering if that was a cave in this mountain but after getting it on the computer and zooming in it is just a shadow.
There were lots of rock formations to take pictures of.
That is Superior AZ at the bottom of the hill.  The hill had a seven percent down grade and the brakes got pretty hot so we stopped and had lunch just before Superior while they cooled.
Well I don't remember seeing a sign that we were in the Tonto National Forest but I did notice this one as we left.
This is on 60 as we head toward Coolidge the cactus and vegetation are starting to look like the Casa Grande area.
Then it was on to Barry and Mona's, the water tower on the hill is for the Central Arizona College and you can see it from their place.  Barry was spraying weeds when we arrived.
This is the view over the fence into Barry and Mona's backyard from the motor home while I was unhooking the Smart Car, I didn't know Vera had taken it.
While I was hooking up the motor home Vera took a bunch of pictures in the yard and one of them was this little gecko.
I had the motor home all hooked up at 3:30.
After relaxing for a little while we went into Casa Grande and got the car washed.  It had lots of black dust on it from the new brakes breaking in.  I wish we had a car wash like that around here, they dried it with towels, washed the windows inside and out, pulled the rugs out and really did a nice job of vacuuming them.
Then we went to the Cracker Barrel for dinner.  It was a busy day but everything went great.
One thing we never get tired of are the sunsets down here.
