Arizona Electric Flight Festival First Day

We were up early today, the first thing I did was starting to disconnect things and put them away.  Then we dumped the holding tanks and moved the motor home out in the street to hook up the Smart Car.  When I got that done we went over to Coolidge and got the propane tank filled.  We took AZ 87 North to Apache Junction for the Arizona Electric Flight Festival.  We got there at eleven and after finding out where we were suppose to park I had breakfast which I had forgotten when we were getting ready to leave.  After getting the flying stuff unloaded I put in a couple of flights on the Skylane and met several of the people who were flying.
I was really intrigued by this FAI pattern ship.  I thought the contra-rotating props would be noisy but they were surprisingly quiet.
This is looking East in the pit area, they really have a nice setup.
This Cessna is huge, I can't wait to see it fly.
Some of the planes were set up for tomorrow already and they spent the night out there.  I got the P-39 out and ended up making a flight before dinner.
After dinner I took a walk to see what was going on and ended up talking to Jay who was from Alaska, he and a friend were going to be doing a podcast about the event.  This is the view of the sunset from the pit area.  I am tired tonight so I think that I will sleep pretty good.
