James Birthday

James wanted to have Papa Pete's pizza at our house for his birthday.

James invited his friend Dalton and his wife Courtney so we arranged the time so they could come after work.

Mik and Michelle are getting things ready for the pizza.  There was lots, they brought two and Debbie had gotten the no cheese one she has to have.  We picked up a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for James birthday cake.  It was really good as was the pizza.
This picture is as we were singing Happy Birthday to James.
The living room conversation group.
I had invited Steve and Dianne, this is the only picture one of them was in.  They had a good time looking at pictures I had scanned with my new negative scanner.
James and Dalton, I think they have been friends since T-Ball.
We gave Courtney a tour of the shop.  Later when I went out to lock it up I took this picture of the moon.

Deer

Mondays the garbage can is taken down for pickup Tuesday morning.  As I was coming back up the driveway after taking it down I spotted these deer laying on the lawn.  I think it is a mother and two fawns we have been seeing all summer.

Christmas

We went into Fred Meyer today.  Boy was I surprised to find a Christmas display.  I did end up with a nice heavy coat for this winter.

Shop

I was out in the shop and decided to put a picture of some of my planes on Facebook.  I ended up getting quite a few reaction to it.

Mower Repair

James came up today to help me repair the tractor/mower.  A couple of weeks ago the drive belt came off and I just walked away from the job because the grass wasn't growing in the hot weather.

The first thing I did after James got it jacked up and took off the mower deck was take a picture of the problem area.  If you look close you can see the belt is in pretty bad shape.

Luckily there  is a diagram on the bottom of the step of how it runs.  Getting it over that Transaxle pully is the hard part,  But we got it on there finally but it took both of us.
I am glad James took this picture of the mower deck because we needed it to get the belts on right.  James changed out all three blade spindle assemblies and several pullies.  He also put on sharpened blades and new belts.
We are all done with it.  It was hot enough that we decided that hauling the yard debris away could wait until tomorrow.

Yard work

James came up today and helped me do some yard work.  We cleared a bunch of brush and then pruned the plum tree.

James is sure a lot stronger than I am, he was grabbing big bunches of limbs and packing them to our pile.
We ended up with a pretty good sized pile of debris by the time we quit for the day.  James decided to wait and use the tractor to haul it away after we repair it tomorrow which is our next project.

Flying at Toledo

This how the sky looked when we got to the field today.

I can tell we have the van because that is where the Skylane is in it all the time now.
This is Bruce's Kaos, it turned out great!  There was a pretty good turnout today but it got warm this afternoon so we left a little early.  That made me glad I had gotten the air conditioning fixed in the van, it made the ride home a lot more pleasant.

Barry organized breakfast at the Oasis this morning, it was great having one more get together.

Barry and Pam talking just before Pam headed back to Lake Stevens.
This is Josie giving Mona a hug, Laury and the girls were out for a walk before Hattie went down for a nap.
Barry and Mona as they were heading out for Eastern Washington.  It was quite the busy Labor Day weekend that sure went by fast.  I am looking forward to getting down to their place this winter.

I got a text from John that they were in Vancouver and did we want to see JP.  I answered that we would love it.  They stopped on their way home to Arlington and visited for a little while.
This is JP playing with the helicopter that is a car carrier.  I took him to the shop and showed him my planes.  Then I gave him a couple of HO locomotives I had.  His dad is into the HO trains and it sounded like he would be getting JP into it soon.
Here is JP's sister Chole playing with a play phone we have.  They didn't stay too long as they had quite a drive a head of them.
Raymond and Barry came over to visit until the party at David and Laury's started.
Laury took this picture of Pam and I visiting.  It was great seeing her again.

Pam and Mona visiting, on the floor in the background is Hattie who was attracting lots of attention.  Laury and David had made pulled pork sliders that were really good.
This is our family picture, Laury, Pam, Jennifer Dianne, Barry, Cathy and I.  It has been quite a while since we have taken one of these.
We added cousin Raymond into the last pictures.

Mothers Day

Mik, Michelle and James took Vera to the Pancake House for breakfast today.  James was the first one there and we had a good time talking ...
