Cascade Robotics Demo

I went down to Cascade Middle School today and put on drone demonstrations for Michelle's robotics classes.  First Michelle or I explained how I got into the hobby and how I got my job from it.

Then I explained about the GPS based control system and told them how it could be programmed to carry out a mission.

Then I flew it around the area while they watched it and the screen.

I used the 450 quad because it has a high definition video system, this is the roof of the school building on the screen.

I also flew the Tarot 250 and they could watch the video sent back with these goggles.  Michelle had to make sure each student got a chance to see the video as I flew.

The principal came down and watched most of one session he seemed quite interested and had a number of questions about how much it cost.

 Every time the kids were on the screen some of them would turn around and wave at the camera.

The Tarot 250 has a lower resolution video, this is a screen capture of the video when the quad was at the West end of the parking lot.  This is what they were seeing in the googles.

Here is another capture from over the lot entrance.  It was fun, I did six classes with a flight by each quad in them so I got in a total of twelve flights today.  From there I went to the Elks in Kelso for a class lunch and to give Janice a thumb drive with pictures to show during the reunion.  When I got home I unloaded the demonstration gear and loaded planes for flying tomorrow.
