The 4th of July

I woke up feeling great today and we headed up to the Toledo flying field.  This picture is after I had put the first flight of the day on the Pitts S2.  I thought we might be the only ones there for a while, but after I had flown a couple of times Marshall showed up.
Leonard and Audrey hadn't planned on coming but Leonard decided he wanted to put his annual 4th of July flight on his Patriotic Vortex.
This is Audrey shooting touch and goes with her Fun Cub.  I had forgotten the antibiotics I am suppose to be taking so we left a little earlier than normal.
About nine Vera and I went down to Lions Pride park to watch fireworks and there was already quite a few people there shooting them off.
It wasn't dark enough for fireworks pictures but there was a nice sunset to watch and photograph.
By 9:45 they were showing up good with the camera and there was lots of them.
There was constantly something going off.  A pickup parked in the next spot with a dad and two kids.  The guy tried to reassure the younger one but they finally had to leave because he was too scared.  We had a great time and spent an hour down there watching.  With the fireworks being shot over the river we never felt in any danger.
