I worked on the Blazer most of the day. The oil filter on our Blazer is just behind the left head light, these lines run from there down to the engine then along the side of the pan to where the oil filter would have mounted at the lower left corner of the block. It took awhile to figure how to get the bolt at the rear loose, I ended up with two extensions together coming in from the front of the engine. It must have taken me a half hour to maneuver it out of there after I got everything unhooked! When I installed the new assembly, it was not twisted right for the manifold on the right of the picture to bolt up. After much messing around, I ended up pulling whole works out and taking it in to the shop vice to correct the twist. Then when I got it back in, I could not get a hand up there to put the bolt in, I finally used a large pair of hemostats to get the bolt in the hole and then used the extensions to tighten it up. I changed the oil and filter, started it up, got Vera and we took it for a test run. Everything checked out fine, so I cleaned up for my 4 O'clock dental appointment. After I got my teeth cleaned, we met Michelle for a few minutes at Mark Morris to deliver a check. We checked with her to find out where Bob Paul's restaurant was, James recommended the chicken fried steak. It was a cool dinner, the thermostat at the restaurant was broken and they could not shut off the air conditioning. Vera had the chicken fried steak and it was great, it came with a choice of potatoes or rice, a vegetable, soup or salad and cheese bread. I had their halibut fish and chips, it came with the same choices and the fish was great with a thin crispy breading. We will probably be going back there again!
