Windy weather flying

I was surprised to find this on the camera, Vera had taken it as I was getting ready for the first flight of the day.
The Pitts flew great and the gyro really helped the take offs.  I still have some adjusting to do on it.  It was really cold this morning and I ended up with my electric vest on.
I flew the EPP foam P-51 a lot today.  EPP foam is kind of rubbery so the plane is hard to damage making it perfect for the windy weather.
Vera got a picture of me making a slow pass with the Porter's flaps down.  The Porter handles the wind pretty well so I got several flights with it today.
Right at noon the wind went from 5 Mph to 15 Mph and this jumper didn't get back to the landing zone.
He had a pretty long walk back.
We spent quite a bit of time under Leonard and Audrey's sun shade today.  Doug showed up with Joey.  Joey was really shy when he first brought him to the field.  Now he has made friends with Leonard and took some food from me.
