We were up before 6 this morning so we could be at the swap meet in McMinnville when it opened at 9. We got there at 8:45 and people were already packing things out, it seems they were letting people in early. We saw several people from each club that I belong to. We ran into an old friend from the early days of radio control helicopters and had a nice visit with him.
This is the first plane I ended up with, it was so cute and only $10 that after three trips by it, I bought it. After we got home, I checked it out, both servos, the motor and speed control work fine. I am not sure about the receiver, but I have one the same size that I will replace it with.
This is the second plane I brought home an F7F Tigercat. I was attracted to it the first pass around the room and it was still there as we were leaving, so I made an offer and ended up with it. The wing needs quite a bit of work, but I got the plane for what the shipping is if you buy the kit.
We were getting hungry about when we got to Tigard, we spotted a Sonic Drive In and made a last minute decision to pull in, mainly because I have not been to a real drive in with curb service in ages. Vera had the Chicken Club Toaster and I had the Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster, we both really enjoyed them. We must have been meant to stop there, because the lady in the next car left her lights on and came over to ask if we had jumper cables. I got ours out and got her going before we started eating. The traffic was terrible in Tigard, so we took 217 out to I5 and headed for the Vancouver Costco. We found lots of things in there we needed and had the cart pretty well filled when we left. The drive down this morning was great, but it was raining pretty hard all the way home. I spent the evening puttering on the two new planes, the F-15 and the Cub.
