Day Twenty Seven

I took this picture of Barry and Mona's back yard on January 10th 2015.
In today's picture you can see how much it has grown since then and that lots more features have been added.
We went to the Indian rodeo in Casa Grande today.  They had tractors on display as we went in and Mona is checking out a tractor she would like to have.
One of the first events was the wild horse race.  The teams had to catch a wild horse, saddle it and then ride it around a barrel, all with in a five minute time limit.  It was lots of fun to watch, guys getting bucked off, falling off because the cinch wasn't tight and a horse refusing to get up.  I think only one team rode around the barrel.
This is the first rodeo I have ever been to, the barrel racing is one of my favorites to watch on TV so I ended up with plenty of pictures of it.
They can sure come close to the barrels, that one got knocked down several times for a five second penalty.
Not many of the cowboys rode the full eight seconds and the bull fighters were kept pretty busy.
They had a bull that had been used in the national finals rodeo that they talked about all afternoon.  When it came time to ride it they opened the gate and it just stood there.  They closed it again, tried again, nothing happened, it took three of four times before it came out bucking but the rider didn't last long.  Their final event was turning a bull loose with no rider for the bull fighters to play with.  After a bit it spotted the clown in the barrel and charged it.  That barrel went several feet in the air and was tumbling end over end when it landed.  Then the bull ran up and hit it again 20 or 30 feet.  The bull fighters got it distracted and it ran to the other end of the arena.  The pickup riders tried to rope it, one succeeded but then it turned, charged him, knocking the horse and rider down.  Then it tried to gore him on the ground, there was lots of excitement for a few minutes but everyone was OK in the end.  It was sure an exciting end to the rodeo!
It took me a while to figure out what in the heck this picture was!  Then I remembered we went through the car wash on the way home.
