The field at Goble was in a real need of mowing since the club's lawn mower was in the shop, so I loaded up our mower and we headed down there after our walk. When we pulled in, Bill was already mowing with his mower. Several other club members showed up and we watched Bill mow. When he finished one member commented that it was not short enough. Bill said he could go over it again and started mowing. I unloaded our mower, adjusted it to the same height as Bill's and we mowed in tandem. The job went really fast doing that and the runway looked great when we finished. I put several flights on the Corsair and the Bonanza today, this runway is smooth enough for planes with retracts. I also flew the SU-29 and my PA-12. James had a game tonight, so we headed home about four.
Just as we were leaving, Vera asked me if I saw the eagle, I hadn't, so I got the camera out and got a bunch of pictures. It looks like it is looking at me in this one.
Just as I got to the game, James was coming up to bat, there was a hole in the screen so I was able to get a picture of his hit from a little different angle.
James played first base until he had to go in as pitcher, he is warming up in this picture.
We were treated to a nice sunset just as the seventh inning started, it was another pleasant evening for baseball just a little cooler than yesterday. We were also getting a fireworks show from the Kelso area. After the game I picked up a caramel milkshake at Dairy Queen and headed home.
