4th of July

Vera and I got to Lake Sacajawea about 10 this morning, the first thing we did was tour the commercial booths.  Lots of glitter there, it had a carnival atmosphere, we didn't see anything that interested us, so we crossed one of the bridges to the other side.  Food booths were the first thing we came upon, we ended up getting some Russian food that was quite good.  While we were eating, the parade arrived at the lake, so we went over and watched it go by for a while.
We were headed to the Timber Carnival when we came across this golf challenge.
They were trying to hit this floating hole out in the lake.  It was great fun to watch, shots went everywhere!  Then a club flew out into the lake, the guy had lost his grip on it.  Boy was he getting kidded!
We finally got to the timber carnival and really enjoyed it.  We got to see the ax throwing, underhand chopping and single and two man crosscut saw competition.  On the way home, we picked up a few things at Home Depot, then we ended up at the Sweet Spot for lunch.
I went up to Gabe and Des's for a BBQ and played a couple of games of cards.  It was fun watching the twins shooting off Roman Candles, they did great for their first time.  I did a little catch up on my pictures and blog.  I heard a couple of mortars go off, so I went outside and got this picture of the last one they shot.
