I had the alarm set for 5:30 AM this morning as I had a 7:45 appointment in Vancouver. I looked out and we had over 2 inches of snow and it was snowing hard. I decided we should start earlier than planned. As soon as we were ready we headed out. By the time we got to the bottom of the hill it was slush on the road. I5 was bare and wet but still snowing. We heard of some accidents further South on the radio but conditions did not get any worse until the Ridgefield exit where there was heavy slush on the road. We found the Kaiser facility with about 45 minutes to spare so we went and hunted up some breakfast. It turns out this is the oldest Kaiser facility around, about 60 years old. I had my echo cardiograph right on time and the tech said he thought there was some Atrial Fibrillation. He asked me to wait while he checked to see if they wanted to do an EKG. About 5 minutes later I was having that done. It confirmed the Atrial Fibrillation and they had me see a cardiologist. He explained the problem and put me on Coumadin starting today. AF is not a life threatening problem, but it does raise your stroke risk which is why they put you on Coumadin. I am one of the ones with it that does not even notice the problem. My 15 minute appointment stretched into 2 hours but it was nice getting everything taken care of in one visit. Afterwards, we did some shopping, I looked at a new hobby shop and wandered around Harbor Freight or a while. After lunch at the Home Town Buffet we headed home. It was foggy and miserable when we got home and a nap was in order after the short night.
After my nap, I took my treasures from Harbor Freight to the shop and did a little work on the camera plane and B-36.
