Sunday July 11th Flying

Sunday morning after watering the garden and checking on the cats we headed for the flying field. The club had a meeting today at the field. Actually both clubs I belong to had meetings, but the Toledo club was planning their Summer Picnic and I am doing the food purchases. We got to the field a little after 9 and flew until the meeting at 11. After the meeting most of us had lunch and visited for awhile. Then it was more flying until around 4 when the wind really started blowing. The remaining flyers packed up and headed home. I was having so much fun I never did get my camera out, so I want to thank Dick Anderson for these pictures.

This picture was taken right after the meeting, Rob (behind the pin box), Rich, Leonard, Me, Vera, Audrey, John, Bob, Earle and Lynn hidden behind the canopy.

My Ailinator, many years ago James and I were in a hobby shop in Portland. James spotted this plane up on the shelf and I had a heck of a time getting out of there without buying it. I spotted it on sale later and got one. Strange thing is, I don't think he has ever flown it. I have offered several times, but he had never taken me up on it. For as strange as it looks, it flies very well.
On the way to flying Thursday I heard a noise and looked in the mirror to see glass bouncing all over the other lane among the cars going that direction. I wondered what the heck had happened. I noticed Saturday evening that the left headlight was out, so then I knew! I picked up new ones on the way to the field Sunday. After we got home I changed the headlights.
