This morning I met Michelle at Cascade Middle School to take a look at the art teacher's slab roller, that is Katrina the art teacher in the background. The top roller had gotten out of line with the bottom one and there was grinding noises as it got near the ends. After a little trial and error I got the rollers in line but the cables didn't look right. Michelle came up with how they should be ran so I disconnected one and rearranged it. It worked much better after that so we buttoned it up.
I have been working on the Kitfox landing gear the last couple of days. I mounted it temporarily to see if it was going to work. It looked good so I drilled the holes for it's permanent mounting. I have also been figuring out which motor to use with it and picked one that should fly it with no problem. It is big enough for a fifteen pound plane and this one should only weigh half that. I also got started building a mount for it, there should be pictures of it tomorrow.

More Decorating
I was able to do all of the shop with an extension pole that has a hook on the end.
When I was taking the pictures I could see the tree line against the clouds lit by Castle Rock's lights, so I tried a picture and it turned out pretty good.
I got the piece made tonight that the landing gear shock absorbers will be mounted to. I had been dreading it but it went great after I figured out how to clamp the plates in position while I silver soldered them.

Christmas Tree
Our Christmas tree came today so we assembled and decorated it. It is not very big, but perfect for us.
Yesterday after my dental appointment I picked up some shelf brackets at Home Depot that were the right width to make some landing gear brackets for the Kitfox. I sawed one out last night and got the other three done today. I put them on temporarily so I can figure out how to mount the shock absorbers.
When I downloaded the pictures tonight I found this one of the light dusting of snow we got Saturday night. It was all gone by the time we got home from church. The rest of Sunday was spent watching football.
These two picture are from November 11th when this doe and buck came through the yard.
The doe posed very nicely for me, but the buck was nervous and kept moving so he is a little blurry.

Jeep Repair
Jordon's Jeep would not run after a power surge so they brought it down to see if I could fix it. I repaired the charger plug in, replaced the charger and battery, that fixed everything except the remote control function which they said was fine. Josh, Jordon and Jacob stopped by today to pick it up. Jordon gave it a road test before we went in the house.
Jacob was really interested in what Jordon was doing and kept a close eye on him.
Jordon went right for the box of Hot Wheels when we got in the house.
Jacob trying on the new Carhartt hat Vera had gotten him. Debbie mentioned him needing a hat for his bald head so Vera got right online and found it, an early Christmas present.
He must like it, he made no attempt to take it off. I had a good time playing a game of growling with him. Vera commented that he is really strong.
I got the cowling area fiberglassed today. The wood was splitting from old age so I filled the cracks and epoxied light weight fiberglass cloth over it. I also got one door frame made, I used 3/16 steel brake line to make it and then silver soldered the pieces together.

Early Thanksgiving Get Together
Mik and Michelle at Parker's tonight, Debbie had to work on Thanksgiving so we had an early family get together. Of course we forgot to take pictures until after Debbie, Josh and the boys had left because it was bedtime and the boys were getting fussy.
Michelle and Vera, Vera said her meal was good and just the right size.
James and I had a good time visiting. I had shrimp fettuccine and it was great but a huge portion and I could only eat a third of it so I got a to go box.
Mik and Michelle brought us a poinsettia, it looks good in the living room. It was a nice evening, it is always fun being with the family.

Not much going on the last couple of days.
11-15-2019 I walked over to look at Parker's new 5th wheel and he gave me a tour of it. It has a nice layout inside I think they will really enjoy it. On the way back I noticed the sun shining through the trees and fog above the house so I took a couple of pictures.
Sunday the 17th we went to church and they had a visiting pastor who played the guitar and sang. The congregation joined in on lots of it, it was an enjoyable service. I had a good time visiting with a couple of other members during the coffee time afterwards.
As we came out of church a fairly large flock of geese flew over, by the time I dug the phone out of my pocket and got it turned on they were a ways off but I took a couple of pictures anyway. Football took up the rest of the day.
Monday the 18th we went to Vancouver to pick up my new partial for where the tooth was pulled last spring. We stopped at Costco afterwards, then stopped at Rosie's in Woodland for lunch which was good.

Flying at Toledo
I took this Funtana to the swap meet but when we unloaded I discovered I had forgotten the wing joiner. We decided that was a sign I needed to fly it some more so I put a new receiver in it and took it to the field today. After flying it with some new high voltage batteries I am really glad I brought it home.
I got to test fly this Monocoupe twice today. Dan had gotten it at the swap meet, he had Leonard tune up the motor this morning and it flew great! This evening I did some more work on the Kitfox's wing struts and got the spoilers recovered and hooked up on the Bird of Time I got at the swap meet.
