Boy was it raining this morning in Brookings!
Our first stop was at OREQ-w the site of an ancient Yourk Indian village.
Vera walked quite a ways on the beach at OREQ-w.
The redwood forest was the next thing we went through, lots of curves and you never knew what was next!
It was nice most of the time and very pretty.
Of course we had to turn off and find what is left of Piercy California. It looks like the 101 has been moved and wiped out a lot of it.We turned off 101 onto Hwy 20 at Calpella. On Hwy 20 we came across some areas the had been burned by the recent wildfires. There was a man out picking up things from this burned out home site.
The wildfires burned a large area, we were driving through it for quite a while.
We had been craving a Blizzard all day long but we could not find a Dairy Queen. We finally noticed this sign at a service station but they did not have a Baskin Robbins inside.
Most of Hwy 20 was a nice relaxing drive.
When we stopped for the night in Marysville the first RV park we tried was full but a half a block past it was a Dairy Queen so we got our Blizzards. We decided to stay at a Motel 6 close by, they had good WiFi so we were able to get caught up with our emails and Facebook.
