Day Four

We stopped for gas at Nevada City CA this morning, I took a wrong turn out of the station and we were lost for a half hour.  We did see some nicely kept up older houses before the GPS finally got us back on track.  This picture was taken at the Jefferson Creek Scenic Outlook on Hwy 20 in the Tahoe National Forest.
Vera is at the same viewpoint which is at 5000 feet.
We kept seeing more and more snow along side the road as we drove on Hwy 20 but luckily there was never any on the road.  This was probably the deepest we saw.
Hwy 20 joined up the Hwy 80 and we took that over Donner Pass.  The motor home was just about maxed out making this climb.
The landscape changed once we were over the pass and there were a lot interesting rock formations.
Some of the areas looked really rugged, I would not want to climb this hill.
There were some pretty scenes as we came down into Reno.
By 12:30 we were checked into the Shamrock RV Park and I started getting setup.
James came by later and opened the Christmas presents that had been sent down with us.
After he was done with that we went to the Chin Chin Chinese restaurant for dinner and had a good time visiting with James.
