I spent most of this week working on the Skylane. I added carbon fiber to the spar on a sheet of glass so it came out nice and straight (Thanks Vera for reminding me to use the glass!). After it was framed up I drilled behind the leading edge and glued in three millimeter carbon rods to reinforce it. There is not much weight added but lots of strength.
I also have been working on the nose section, I had to mount the motor and speed control before I could add the balsa blocks. I was happy when everything fit the way I wanted.
With the blocks installed I have started shaping the nose. I have created lots of shavings while doing that and the rest of the fuselage. I plugged up the vacuum hose once while working on the bottom. There is not much else to report, we did the normal things this week, bible study for Vera and Coffee with the Pastor for me.
