We were off to the Toledo flying field early this morning to try and beat the heat. There were two other flyers there already with the same idea that we had. It was also forecast to be pretty windy and it was, but right down the runway most of the time. The Corsair is hiding under the table because the dark blue covering will wrinkle sitting in the sun. There was a total of six flyers counting me today. I got in half dozen flights and a couple of rest breaks under the canopy with Vera. The foot is not used to the wedge being gone yet. By about 1:00 it was getting warm enough that I was ready to head home. The air conditioning sure felt good when we went in the house. Once we were settled in, I iced my foot, then I watered the plants and my patch of new grass. My airplane stand had gotten broken today, so I repaired it this afternoon in front of the shop air conditioner. The neighbor boy came up with a question about the radio control truck I had fixed for him and we had a nice visit before I headed in for the evening.
I got a picture from Mik of James and his date before they left for the prom.
Here is the group he went with.
