We went up to Vera's niece Veda's wedding today and we picked up Marie on the way. This is Veda and Loren just after being introduced as husband and wife.
This is the group at our table. There was a really good turn out and I think every table was full. It was fun getting caught up with some of the family we don't see very often and a couple we had never met before. Vera and I went to the New Balance outlet store after we dropped off Marie. I wanted to get a new pair of running shoes, not that I run, but they sure support my feet much better than walking shoes. Now maybe I can keep up with Pastor Pam and Vera when we walk, lately they have been leaving Don and I in the dust.

Midnight Moon
Our first stop today was my appointment at Kaiser with Dr. Braganza for an eye pressure check, my pressures checked very good. While I was waiting, I thought of my blog and took this picture of the instrument he uses to look into my eye. After that, I had blood drawn for my monthly INR check, then I made an appointment with my regular doctor for a follow up, last on our list was to check on our dental appointments. Vera was sure we had made them, and I was sure we had not! Vera was right, we have them scheduled for December. As we were going to the car, I checked the time and we had only been there 40 minutes! I don't think I have ever had a single appointment that went that fast, let alone get 4 things taken care of. Our run of getting things done continued at Walmart, we found everything on our list there. After lunch at Skipper's, we made a stop at Safeway for a few things and ended up filling the cart. I did some painting on our patio table and chairs this afternoon. I spent the evening editing pictures and catching up on my blog.
At midnight as I was checking the doors, I noticed the moon looked very bright. I got the camera and went outside for some pictures, it was sure pretty!

A busy day!
I built a new mount to hold the GoPro on the quad today. Once it was done, I had to go right out and try it. I set the camera to take a picture every 2 seconds and it took 469 pictures during the flight. I was surprised by how high it was in the first picture. The wind was blowing pretty hard, but the stabilization system handled it just fine. You can see in the picture that some of the limbs are blurry from the wind whipping them.
I came down and flew around in the yard and managed to take a selfie.Debbie had called with a question about the roofing her and Josh were doing, I hadn't worked with that type of roofing, so I wasn't sure of my answer. We were heading to James' football game, so decided to stop by and look at it. As it turned out, it looked like they were doing it right.
This is James before the game, warming up. It is getting dark earlier now and this is one of the clearer picture I got.
Here, James is about to make his first pass, a completion. During the next one they tried, he really got hit hard.
James handles the ball really well, once there was a high snap and I was amazed when he caught it one handed and made the hand off to the back. Columbia River is a big school and they must have had twice the players Mark Morris did. During the first half MM was still in it, but the second half got ugly fast and they lost 35 to 0.

Visitors
Vera had bible study this morning, while she was gone I did some organizing in the shop as I was expecting our friend Dave to stop by. This is a picture of Dave that Vera took last week at the CVRCF field. Dave came by after lunch and I had a good time showing him around the shop. I showed him some videos I had plus a recording of the Red Bull air race in England. Just as we were going out so I could show him around the place, here came the twins with fresh baked cookies. We both enjoyed one of those before going on the walk around our trails. Dave is easy and interesting to talk to, so it was a nice afternoon. He also brought us some fresh tomatoes from his garden that are delicious.

This is hard!
Yep, remembering what went on 3 or 4 days later is really tough! Monday was pretty laid back around here, resting up from the weekend. I think Monday Night football was the highlight of the day.
Tuesday is a little easier, I took a picture! I worked on the Suzuki and got the wheels taken off, then I discovered I did not have a 30 mm socket so I could pull off the brake drums. It looks like a trip to Harbor Freight for me! I did some work on the Dirty Birdy and the dent in the leading edge is almost done.

Club Meeting
We were up early and off to Toledo for a 9 AM club meeting. Big surprise as we went North, it was foggy and cold, just about everyone at the meeting had coats on.
After the meeting, the fence and signs were put back up, we have to take them down each year for the threshing bee.
Our friend Bob was in a good mood, he had a new plane that I test flew for him. It flew pretty good, just a couple of minor issues to fix.
This is the old threshing machine they keep parked by the road, next to the modern transformer. After the field was back in flying condition, I flew for a couple of hours until it started getting warm and it was close to time that James said he was stopping by. We had a nice visit with him during the evening.

They will soon be gone!
This may be the last rose of the year, fall is arriving, it is easiest to to tell in the mornings as they are pretty cool.
I started out to take a picture of the rose, then as I was wandering around looking for subjects, I took this one of the moss roses. The glass watering device is a nice idea, it just does not work, but it does make a nice background for the flower.
The hanging basket that Mik, Michelle and James got Vera continues to bloom. I puttered around with the motor home today, Vera was really tickled when I showed her how I had vacuumed it.
