After flying we went to James' game at Western. They played great and ended up winning 12 to 2.

Thursday Flying and Baseball
It was a great day for flying Thursday. Vera and I headed up about 9:30 and stayed until 4:00. I flew my T-28 and Stuka, both of which had spent the winter hanging from the ceiling in the shop. Barry stopped by in the afternoon and shared some pizza with us. We had a nice visit with him.

Mothers Day

I had just finished making my breakfast when I spotted the bunny on its morning rounds. I think they have a route they take every morning eating their favorite things. I grabbed the camera and got a couple of pictures of him before I ate. While Vera went to church I did a little cleaning (emphasis on little) cleaning around my chair. Then I ordered pizza for the lunch we had planned with Bev, Michelle and the kids.
A group shot with a couple of Vera's presents in front of them.

After James and I threw the football around, he took my camera and went in the woods taking pictures. This one turned out great! He mowed our lawn and part of the rental backyard while the girls visited and I cleaned the pond. Then he got an upset stomach, so he called it a day on the mower. He helped me with the pond until it was time to go. I went ahead and finished the lawn and ran over our trails for the first time this year. First time on the mower for any length of time and the knee handled it great.

Play now, pay later!
I was out taking pictures of flowers and took this picture of moss in a pot on our deck. The Macro feature of the digital cameras can sure turn something ordinary into an unusual picture.
We went flying Saturday at Toledo. Boy was it a nice day, we had 13 members flying. Everyone was happy to be out enjoying the sunshine. I think we spent more time talking than flying.
The guys had not seen James for awhile. I thought he might be a little rusty, but he took off and put on one heck of a show of low level slow flight. He says it is from playing video games, but I think he learned to fly so young that he will never forget.

James leaned a little too far back once. We spent about 3 hours there until the wind came up and it started getting cooler. We stopped in Toledo and picked up a pizza for dinner. Their combination weighs a ton! James mowed the yards after we got home. All the activity kind of caught up with me, my knee swelled up pretty good and got pretty stiff. I iced and elevated it all night and it is doing fine today. The doctor said 8 or 9 weeks recovery, but it feels so good that I am probably pushing it at times.

Hope you got to enjoy Saturday, because Sunday is sure not as nice a day.

Trip to Olympia
The last time I was up to Barry's in June, they were installing kitchen cabinets. I had a great time watching, no help, just watching!

They were over run with boxes.

Today, things looked much different! I noticed the wheelchair Barry has right away, seems like a long time since I last saw it.

The Kitchen is looking really nice, hope my effort turns out half as good.

After looking at the progress, we went to Dirty Dave's for pizza and had a nice visit. After lunch Barry showed me pictures from their trip to AZ this year. They have some great ones, amazing how colorful rock can be.

I hit the hobby shop and Costco on the way home. If you have not been to the Costco in Lacey, they have the widest isles I have seen yet. Big surprise for me, my knee did not hurt after walking around the hobby shop and Costco. That made for a good finish to a nice relaxing day.

Time Flies

Time sure flies, it has been 6 days since I posted here. Football games (both James and the Seahawks), Flying and Parties kept us pretty busy. I filled in between things with several naps.

Sunday was the club Electric Fly In and Tail Gate Swap Meet. I was happy to get rid of almost everything I took up there. James and Michelle came up and had lunch with us, afterwards James got in some flying.
After the Fly In we had a Pizza Party for Jackie before she left for the Moses Lake Job Corps. We had a great time and everyone was in a good mood.
Barry and Mona had brought down the two rabbits Bev is bunny sitting with so the exchange took place in Papa Pete's parking lot.
Is it time for a nap yet?
Alan
