A great day of flying with a sad ending!

We were up at the LCRC flying field about 9:30 this morning, I was anxious to fly the new P-51B, so that was one of the first things I did once we were set up.  I should say attempted to fly, because as I started the take off run, a snap ring on the motor shaft came off and the motor housing, prop and spinner flew about 3/4 of the runway.  Vera got this picture just as the parts were coming out.  I put it away and test flew the Sukhoi I had crashed a couple of weeks ago.  It actually flies better than before because I changed out the elevator servo for a much better digital one.

I am having fun now!  Vera was busy with the camera today, she took 165 pictures of me, my planes and everything that went on today.
Here are the five planes and one helicopter I flew today, while the P-51B hides under the table.  Lots of people checked out the loose motor.  My table tent worked great and I think we are getting quicker at setting it up.
Vera liked this picture of the clouds, they had a layered effect all day.  When we got home, there were all kinds of marks on the highway about 25 feet up from the driveway.  I found out from Dianne there was a fatality accident there today and the road was closed for 3 hours, a sad end to the day, plus we got word last night that my uncle Denny had died.  It sure makes you realize how precious life is!
