After breakfast and exercises, it was off to two Thursday Garage Sales in the Castle Rock area. Vera found a couple of things, but I struck out. I did pick up some Slime for the mower's tire at Bredfields. After we got home, I went out and fixed it. I found the problem right away, a 1/4 inch hole. That is a little more than Slime will handle, so I put a plug in first. The tires are 12 years old, so I went in and ordered new tires after I finished testing the repair out.
When I came out from ordering the tires, the twins were just walking up to the shop porch. They started playing in the gravel and putting rocks on my door mat. Then Ava brought a rock to me, went back and found more and kept bringing them to me until I had a pretty good handful. She made sure each rock was a round one, no crushed rock for me. After she got done and went on to something else, Harper brought me a rock and put it into my hand. She studied all the rocks and took two big handfuls. She saw there were still some rocks in my hand, so she dropped what she had taken, reached up, sweep the rest out of my hand onto the ground and headed out. Ava came back with a shiny rock she had gotten at the fort and gave it to me. Then they headed off to the sandbox. It is so much fun watching them do these things. I got a big "Bye Alan" when I headed back to the shop. They are saying "Thank You" pretty well also.
I had noticed the two seven foot bushes by the motor home carport were dead. I decided to cut them back so the new shoots coming up will have room. That turned into a big job when we trimmed some of the other plants that the freezes this winter had killed. I ended up hauling three trailer loads of stuff to the compost piles.
When I got done cleaning up and putting things away, I decided to take some pictures for my blog. I ended up with way too many pictures to put here. One thing I noticed as I was taking pictures of the Rhododendron's was that it sounded like I was next to a bee hive, the bee's were all over the rhododendron's. After dinner and a nap I was ready to do this.
