Frosty Flying

The first thing to catch our eye when we got to the flying field was the frost on everything.
Even the grass looks nice with frost all over it.
Mt Rainier was really bright in the afternoon sun.
It was 34 degrees  when we got to the field.  The first thing I did was get the heaters out.  I had a new one I was anxious to try that fits under my flying chair.  It runs about five hours on a one pound propane bottle.  It worked great and I will be using it anytime it is cold.  I got in ten flights today, I wanted to run the batteries for the P-39 down for winter storage.  Lipos last longer if they are stored at 50% charge.  I will not be flying the P-39 or the Corsair again until spring.  We were dressed for the cold and there was no wind most of the day so we were surprisingly comfortable.  After we got home I took the P-39 and the Corsair into the shop to hang up.  I just looked back and I have been flying the Corsair for almost five years.
