Barry fixed an awesome breakfast this morning!
He made a ham and tater tot omelet with toast, of course I forgot to take a picture until I was half done.
After breakfast I went out and took a picture of the sunrise lighting the backyard. Then I went in and got all my stuff packed up. Mona was going to go along, but she got called into work.
Barry got me to the airport in plenty of time and it only took a few minutes to get through security. Barry had told me that the end of the concourse was a great place to watch the airport. Gate 11 turned out to be right at that end so I had a good time waiting to board.
I have Alaska's boarding figured out now and I was sitting right by the gate when they called for rows 20 to 35 to board. I was all settled in my seat and had plenty of time to call Vera before takeoff.
We flew over Grand Canyon, this is the first time I have seen it. Boy, that is some rugged looking country!
The weather at Portland is sure a lot different than what I left in Phoenix.
Mik picked me up at the airport, he mentioned seeing a Russian airplane as he was driving in. He took me over to where I could get a picture of it. It was an Antonov AN-124 100 and it looked like they were loading or unloading a Chinook helicopter.
When we got home, Vera had a fresh batch of Cocoa Mounds waiting for me and a plate of them for Mik. I had a great week, but it sure felt good to get home. Thank you Barry and Mona for a really nice week!
