8-4-2010 James Day

I went down and picked up James this morning at 9. We went to the 30th Ave. BK for breakfast and to see if any modelers were there. Buford and Rick were so we had a chance to get caught up with what was new with them. Then it was off to get new batteries for the 4 wheelers. Neither has ran since last summer when I started having trouble with my knee. After we got home and started working on them, James asked if he could wash them(which they really needed), we got the hose, soap, brushes and bucket out and he started washing with Parker and Auna helping. Before that was done they were all wet. They also found this big dead beetle in the grass. Funny to watch them as none of them would touch it, they used sticks to move it around. I got a plastic box and put it in there per Rielee's suggestion. It is mentioned in Dianne's blog also.
After the washing, changing both batteries and fresh gas the 4 wheelers started right up. Right away the kids wanted to head to the creek. Parker rode the cycle, James the little 4 wheeler and Auna drove the big one with me as a passenger and away we went. On the other side of the pipe line the little one started acting up with a sticky throttle and one front brake dragging so we went back home. James had to leave early today so he could get ready for a camping trip so it worked out OK.
Just before we left James and I went over to see Dianne and the twins. They really like that little push car. After we met Michelle and dropped off James, I picked up a few tools at Sears. After we got home I decided to repair a leak in the small fountain. The plan was to create a dam around the base and fill it with resin. Boy did that turn into a nightmare! The dam leaked and I spent a couple of hours trying to stop it and wiping of the leaks that ran down the sides. Finally about 10:00 it set up enough that most of the leaks stopped. I went in and put ice on my knee and heat on my back. Need I say that I slept good last night.
