This is the first picture of our 2012 Smart Car we got on Monday the 26th. Vera was nervous about driving through the Tacoma traffic if we got the car so I asked Barry if he would come with us and drive Vera back to their place. I also asked him to give me his opinion of the car. We visited with Barry for a little while before heading up to Tukwila. I had Barry test drive it for me and we decided to get it. After paying for it and getting the title we headed back. I was going to follow Barry and Vera with the Smart Car but I missed the first turn Barry made. I wandered around the Tukwila area for awhile until Google Maps got me on I5 South. I got to Barry's about a half hour after they did. We went to dinner with Barry and Mona at the golf club, I really liked their fish and chips. Vera followed me home on the back roads and I found out the Smart Car has really good headlights. Tuesday we went down, got the title transferred and new plates.

I have been building drawers for my chargers and batteries. I finished up this lower drawer for the batteries today. This is how it looks with both drawers out, the top one will come out about a foot farther than the bottom one.
The radio for the Smart Car came today and I started installing it. I got it in and Vera pushed the power button and nothing happened! I hadn't hooked up the memory supply so I had to take it clear out and start again.

The Toledo club had a work party today to put the field back together after the threshing bee. There were four of us there early and the setup was pretty well along before the majority of members showed up. Once the work was done a bunch of us spent the rest of the day flying.
9-2-2019 Labor Day Flying
These are the planes I flew today. I flew the glider for fifty minutes, there were some good thermals as I only used the motor for five minutes.
I have the charging drawer and battery drawer pulled out and the solar panel hooked up to charge the deep cycle battery powering the chargers. The battery was going down without the solar panel hooked up so I probably need a new battery there.
We had a good turn out today, every table was in use at times. It was a good day with lots of flying and no crashes.
9-3-2019 We ran to Costco today and got two new golf cart batteries for my charging station in the motor home. We took the scenic route through North Clark County and stopped at Woodland for Blizzards. Then we stopped at the Kalama Chevron to see if James was working. Just as we parked Mik pulled into a space near us and went into the Chevron without noticing us. I went in and visited with Mik, he called James to see when he came into work and it turned out he was sitting in his car on the other side of the Chevron waiting to come in to work. He came in and we got to visit with him for a few minutes and get hugs. We decided to get the car washed in Longview, then pick up my favorite breakfast granola at Fred Meyer. They were out of it last time and I don't like the one I ended up getting. Mik had said Michelle was home taking it easy so we stopped by there for awhile and got caught up with what they had been doing.

Vera took the Smart Car to bible study today, her first solo trip in it. She got to show it off to a couple of the ladies husbands. It seems really small but when you get in there is lots of room. I have the radio installed now along with a backup camera that connects to it.

I finished up the dash today, everything is tight now and no more rattles. There was a mount for Sirius Radio in the middle under the radio and we replaced it with the Ford emblem.
This is the Smart Car Atoto Android radio. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, backup camera, DVR camera and a module that plugs into the car, reads out the error codes and the engine performance data. It hooks up to our WiFi and updates itself automatically.
This is one of the screens when it is monitoring engine data. Need I say that we will be learning how to use this radio for a while.
9-6-2019 After getting woke up early today by a lightening and thunder storm I spent the entire day working on getting caught up here.
