Oops!

Thursday morning the doe was still around sampling things.  I charged batteries and got a couple of flights on my quad during the day.  I did find a dead fir on one trail that needs to be taken out.  With no needles on the limbs, I didn't see them until it was too late, the quad hit it and ended up on the ground.
When it had cooled down a little I got the mower out and mowed the lawn.
Today we went up to Toledo for our normal Friday mowing and flying session.  This is Steve K. mowing the runway, one mower is down for repair so I was going to mow Mrs Herren's lawn after Steve finished the runway.  A few minutes later Mrs Herren's son in law stopped by and let us know her lawn did not need mowing this weekend so I started getting my planes out.  After Steve finished we started flying and had a pretty good day.  Before the day was over there were eight of us out there flying.  It was a lot cooler today because the clouds did not burn off until late in the afternoon.  I managed to ding up the Dimona motor glider a little when I changed to a lighter battery and it lifted off sooner than I expected and stalled.  I also got to go for a walk in the tall grass when I flew the Lancaster a little too long and did not have enough battery charge left to get back to the runway.  I missed it the first trip out in the field so I went back for water and to take a new sighting on where it went down.  It wasn't as far out as I had thought and I found it about three feet from the  line I was walking the second trip out.  Even with a couple of mishaps I had a good day.
