I knew it was going to be a good day when I looked out and saw the sunrise. I grabbed a camera and headed out even though it was 18 degrees.
At 10 AM when we got to the field it was still cold, but no wind and lots of sunshine.
The first order of business was a test flight on my new Piper PA-12. It went great, this one is a keeper. Other flyers started showing up after we did. By the time the day was over Vera and Audrey counted 14 flyers and 14 guests. I put in two flights with the GoPro camera mounted on the Cub and the videos turned out great. Much clearer than any I have taken before.
My friend Horty brought out his new plane for it's first flight. I test flew it for him and grinned the whole flight because it looked so cute rocking along. My cheeks hurt from grinning when I landed. About noon I fired up the oven and warmed up the pizza, which tasted great on a cold day. We flew until about 2 o'clock and then loaded up. We just missed Mik, Michelle and James at the field and they almost caught us before we got home. After a short visit with them I hooked the motor home to power and buttoned it up for the night and came in here to play with pictures and videos. I hope to post some videos here when I get them edited. I hope your New Years Day was as much fun. Flying sure beats a hangover.
Here is a link to the new video camera on You Tube. It is not as clear as the original video.
