Jordon's Preschool Christmas Program

I almost missed Jordon's Preschool Christmas program but I remembered just as I sat down for dinner.  I ate really fast and ended up getting there about ten minutes late.  I got to hear three songs before they were done.

Debbie took this selfie of our group.  I had a nice visit with Bev after the program.

Jordon is showing his great grandma Anita the shiny ornament he got.  He was calling it a disco ball.
Jacob was sick so Josh didn't get to see the program.
Jacob almost smiled once while he was sitting on his grandma Natalie's lap.  I had a great time seeing and visiting with everyone.

Sunsets

As I came out of the post office today I noticed the sunset.  By the time we got over to the bike park it had faded quite a bit but I took a picture anyway.  We made a run to Home Depot to pick up the lattice and some 2x4s for the carport.  When I was figuring out how many 2x4s I needed last night I realized that I had not ordered enough lattice so we will be doing this again in a couple of weeks.
As we left the bike park I discovered that it looked better behind us so I stopped by the skateboard park and took this picture.  James came up today and we had a great visit with him reminiscing about our flying adventures.

Exploring

 12-7-2021
After picking up the mail we went for a ride out Ph 10 and then decided to explore Growlers Gulch Road.  In all the years I have lived here I had only been on it once to go to a garage sale at one of the first houses on the road.  It was a nice drive up past a tree farm and ended when we got near the power line.  Looking at the map tonight I realized we were almost to Melton Road which comes off of Delameter Road.

On the way back down I stopped to take a picture of the nice little valley at the bottom of the hill.
I stopped to take a picture of the sign before heading home with the packages that had come in the mail.  One was a helicopter tool I had forgotten was ordered.  The other package was some helicopter and plane batteries I ordered on a Black Friday Sale.

12-8-2021

We went home from mailing our Christmas cards over Headquarters Road.  When we went by Davis Road we decided to do a little more exploring because we hadn't been on it since our ELT Team days.  It is a nice little drive but you want to slow way down for the cattle guards as they are pretty bumpy.
Davis Road loops around and comes out on Headquarters Road, it is just a couple of hundred feet to South Silver Lake Road and we took it to the Spirit Lake Highway.  There is one spot with a pretty good view of Silver Lake so we stopped and Vera took this picture.  It was quite a day weather wise with sunshine one minute and downpours the next.  Of course when I had to get out at the post office it was a downpour.

Working with James

James came up today and helped me finish adding some supports for a part of the carport that was sagging.  James did all the heavy work and everything that required being on the ladder.  The job went great and we were done in two hours.

I ordered some lattice to put between the posts tonight, something I have been planning on doing for years.
The hanging basket was too heavy for Vera or I to move so Vera had James move it to the South side of the house.

We moved this fuchsia that Mik, Michelle and James had gotten Vera for a Mother's Day there three years ago and it has bloomed every year since.  It was a good day, James is great to work with, the Seahawks won and Vera made an awesome batch of Cocoa Mounds.

Class Lunch.

I had a good time at the 57/58 class lunch today.  I am still working with the 3D printer learning the settings and how to operate it.  I had to order filaments for it which are supposed to be here Friday.

3D Printer

I have been having a great time the last few days setting up a new 3D printer I got for Christmas.  It was a little early but the Black Friday price was awesome.  Saturday James came up and we put a new right side axle in his car.  One of the CV joints had a lot of play in it.  The job went great and was pretty easy on me because James did all the work.  After we finished the axle we changed the oil and filter.  There was only one issue there when we miscalculated where the oil would go when the plug was pulled.  It was not the first time there has been oil spilled there so it was not a big problem.

As I was coming in from taking the picture of the 3D printer I stopped and took a picture of the ceiling in the front room of the shop.  I wonder what I should fly the next time I go.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving with a lot of our family.  I think this is the first time Mik's mom Margret has been to our place.

There was lots of good food to eat.
Of course I forgot all about taking pictures until after we started to eat.
I don't normally eat sweet potatoes but I took some of Debbie's to be polite and they were great.  From now on if Debbie makes them I will have some.
It looks to me like Jordon is about to sneak something.
I got this little helicopter out that James used to play with for the boys and they loved it.  Twenty years old but after oiling and new batteries it worked fine.
Here is a short video of it flying.
The object of the game is to fly around and land on the Heli Pad but Jacob figured out a way to do it.
I put the stuffed puppy on my head like a hat but Jacob was having none of that and took it off me.

I think Vera is the boy's favorite, they spent a lot of time playing with her.

Abernathy, Focaccia and Flying

3-14-2025 When I looked out the West window this morning it looked like snow on Abernathy.  By the time I finished my exercises and remember...
