Jordon's Basketball

We went down to Jordon's last basketball game at the YMCA today.

This is Jordon (#4) with the teammates he played with today at the start of the game.  They played the first and third quarters.

Jordon told his mom that he likes basketball.  He does better every game and came so close to making a basket once, the ball kind of hovered on the rim before falling back.  We really enjoyed the game and afterwards stopped for our usual Arby's and curly fries.  Then we stopped at Harbor Freight for one item and both of us found things we needed, so once again it cost us about twice as much as the item I had stopped to get.

Door Canopy

After the fog cleared it got nice and sunny outside, then UPS showed up with my project for today.  This is the canopy I had ordered for the door.  It went together pretty easily and fit like I hoped it would.  It will be nice not having raindrops going down the back of my neck while I unlock the door.
As I was putting the tools away I noticed it was nice and calm so I got the FW-450 out for a flight.  It was a great way to end the day.

Christmas Lights

I was mowing along the driveway after taking the garbage can down to the highway when James pulled in.  He had a load of pellets for me and said it looked nice enough to put up the Christmas lights.

After he had unloaded the pellets he got the lights out and we started putting them up.  James actually did most of it and I just got parts as needed.

This is just after we finished the house and were heading back to finish the shop.
After it got dark I went  out and took a couple of pictures.

The shop turned out pretty good.  It was sure fun working with James today.

Jordon's Basketball and Christmas Parade

We went down to Jordon's basketball game this morning.  Today was the day they got their team photos back so I took this picture of it.

This is Jordon during warm up, he made a basket during it and was really excited.  He played a good game today and I had a great time watching him guard the girl they assigned him to the two quarters he played.
After the game we had our usual Arby's and then stopped at Safeway.  On the way home I  stopped by Lions Pride Park to check the river.  It had came down about six feet from a high of forty four feet on Wednesday.
Tonight was the Christmas parade in Castle Rock, it was so stormy that we decided to stay home so these pictures were sent to me by Debbie and Michelle.  This float was built by Josh and Debbie and had a bunch of Toutle Lake kids on it.
Jacob was riding in the Jeep pulling the trailer because of his broken finger.  Jordon and the other kids had a great time giving out candy along the parade route.
The Country Cousins had a float in the parade also.  Cale and Erica were in the front and Emmy was at the back.

Moon, Christmas lights and Hattie.

 11-28-2023

I noticed the moon was just coming up tonight so I walked to the North side of the shop to take a picture of it.

I hadn't noticed Steve and Dianne's lights were up so I took a picture of them also.

I let the stove run out of pellets today so I could clean it.  I tried a new way of cleaning the glass using a brush in my cordless drill.  It worked great and is cleaner than it has ever been.

We went down to Burger King for dinner tonight, I suggested eating it at the River Trail North parking lot.  It was very pleasant sitting there talking, looking at the lights and watching the traffic go by.
Every year they have these Elves in a different spot.  We cruised around town but did not find many houses decorated yet.
After we got home I went out to the shop and did some covering on the fuselage of the Elipstick until I realized that I shouldn't cover the second side so I could get the radio gear installed.

The hanging basket Mik, Michelle and James got Vera for Mothers Day keeps blooming even though it froze quite a few nights.

12-4-2023
This is one of the Happy Monday pictures Laury sent me today.  Boy does time fly, Laury mentioned that Hattie was five months old today.  Emmy posted a really cute video of Hattie rolling over on Facebook.

I had a doctors appointment this morning and they put me back on a medicine for a skin condition I have.  Not much else has been going on here except lots of rain, we got 2.25 inches of it in twenty four hours a day of so ago.

James

 11-20-2023

I had James come today and help me put the new Lithium batteries in the motor home.  Boy are the old lead acid batteries heavy, there is no way I could have lifted them out of the tray.  Even James had to work hard to pick them up and move them to the storage container.  I got the new batteries all hooked up the next day.

11-22-2023

James called me on the 22nd and said he had smoke or steam coming out of his car.  He sent me these pictures of the area where it was coming from.

11-27-2023

James came up today and brought me a load of pellets for the shop.  The stove has been going through quite a few bags in this cold weather and I had put the last bag in last night.  I followed him home and we did some checking on his car and found a plug leaking on the radiator.  I think that is the end of it where I put the red arrow.  We went to O'Reilly Auto Parts and found some much heavier plugs to repair it with.

Thanksgiving

The boys were pretty interested in the Disney Christmas movie that was playing.

We had a great time, everyone was in such a good mood.  The biggest discussion was about if the turkey should be baked to 160 or 165.  It tasted great as did everything else we had.  I was surprised how well my M&M casserole was liked.
This is our group photo today. In the front row, Jordon, Michelle, Jacob, Vera and James.  In the back row, me, Gabe, Josh, Debbie, Natalie and Anita.
Mike took the pictures so he was not in the group shot, he is telling Jordon to get in the group.

Jacob is attacking Mik right after the pictures were taken.

Abernathy, Focaccia and Flying

3-14-2025 When I looked out the West window this morning it looked like snow on Abernathy.  By the time I finished my exercises and remember...
